4g LTE Networks Offer New Opportunity
08.02.11

A recent global survey of mobile operators reveals that most of them view LTE as a huge opportunity to offer new and improved services. Around 75% of all operators surveyed said they are in the process of planning, deploying or testing an LTE network. One of the requirements for monetizing these new networks is the roll out of more 4g LTE handsets to the market. It's estimated that new LTE handsets will be readily available to consumers over the next two years.
It's estimated by the GSM Association that LTE is the fastest growing mobile technology in history, which is leading to the emergence of a robust UC offering within the industry. LTE services are seen as a way for operators to overcome the threat posed by OTT services and generate more revenue from both enterprise and retail customers.
